A significant part of the firm's practice consists of handling appeals
in both state and federal courts. Our appellate practice is not
limited to cases handled by Howell, Trice & Hope, P.A. at the
trial court level, as we often are retained for the specific purpose
of pursuing or defending an appeal.
Construction
Litigation
We have represented all entities in the construction project chain,
including owners, design professionals, construction managers, contractors
and subcontractors, and suppliers. These disputes have ranged from
contract interpretation, completion, and performance questions to
claims for damages sustained by contractors and owners alike as
a result of change orders, delays, disruptions, and acceleration.
Creditors'
Rights and Foreclosures
The Firm handles creditors' rights litigation. Including debt collections,
foreclosures of mortgages and other liens on real estate, foreclosures
of security interests in collateral, and replevin of collateral.
Eminent
Domain
Over the years the firm has handled every aspect of eminent domain
litigation, representing governmental units and public utilities
condemning property, and defending governmental units and public
utilities against claims of inverse condemnation. Howell, Trice
& Hope, P.A. also has represented property owners in defending
condemnation actions, claiming inverse condemnation, and contesting
the condemning authority's valuation of their property. William
Trice has served as Staff Attorney for Arkansas State Highway Commission.
Family
Law
Our firm provides legal counseling in family law, including the
initiation of proceedings for the dissolution of marriage, preparation
of pre-marital agreements, representation of clients in child custody
and support proceedings, negotiation and preparation of post-marital
property settlement agreements, and enforcement of pre-marital agreements
upon dissolution. We also handle guardianships and adoptions, including
contested proceedings.

In addition to the specific areas mentioned, we handle all varieties
of commercial and corporate litigation, including contract, business
tort, Uniform Commercial Code, computer, banking law, landlord-tenant,
professional liability, and personal and real property disputes.
Insurance
As businesses have faced increased and expanded theories of liabilities,
issues of insurance have also increased in importance and complexity.
The firm regularly represents clients regarding insurance coverage
issues as well as regulatory issues.
Personal
Injury/Property Damage
We have represented plaintiffs, defendants, and insurers in a variety
of tort cases involving personal injury, death, medical malpractice,
and property damage. Our experience includes the negotiation of
structured settlements involving complex settlement terms.
Probate
(Wills, Trusts and Estates)
The firm has for many years represented heirs, beneficiaries and
fiduciaries, both individual and corporate, in probate-related litigation
including will contests, actions involving the administration of
trusts, and claims for and against estates.
Administrative
Law
Much of the firm's litigation practice involves representing private
parties in administrative proceedings before governmental agencies.
We have appeared before numerous federal and state agencies in a
variety of government regulatory areas. The firm also handles judicial
appeals from administrative decisions, as well as original actions
against governmental agencies for injunctions or declaratory judgments.
William Trice represents the Arkansas State Medical Board.
